Fantastic 1965 Fastback for sale. Fully restored and ready to go anywhere. This is quite an unusual car. We bought this car about 10 years ago as part of the initial investments to start Mustang Project and of course to have some fun. We have installed many a quality product in this car and used it for fit and function measurements during the actual restoration. As we expand into more and more later model car parts we need to reinvest in those cars and parts. We have lot of new products in the works for 2010 and most will be for 67 and later cars.

The car itself is a very early fastback. Actually titled in 1964 and built in San Jose in August of 1964 it is the earliest fastback we have ever seen. VIN is pictured as well as warranty info.

This is a totally rust free car. We have been over every square inch of the car. The floor pans were stripped down to bare metal on the inside of the car and also on the underside! Both sides were recoated with rust bullet paint ( more expensive that POR 15 but we think worth it) then repainted and coated with high tech sound deadening on the inside. Cowls are in perfect shape. This car has had a very protected life and is just beautiful in every area.

Great features include the following: Factory correct AC ( ice cold), Rally Pac, GT Exhaust (factory correct), C4 transmission completely rebuilt, painted and tuned with high stall torque converted added. Factory correct manifold and rebuilt 4100 4 barrel carb. Reengineered by Pony Carbs. Hidden MSD6AL electronic ignition and Pertronix II. GT Fog Lights, Ultra rare lighted grille pony ( original part ), chrome rotunda racing mirrors, Rotunda reproduction headrests. Other fun and rare things like compass and dash clock. Power brakes discs in front, drums in rear , power steering ( correct Eaton type with remote reservoir), hood and trunk lights, accurate reproduction AM/FM radio and more. The only negative at all on this car are minor paint bubbles (one or two) at the door edges where they normally are in these cars. Excellent paint overall and non experts think it is perfect but we all know there is no such thing! No dings or dents or bondo body work at all! Pure metal.

There are many extras on the car because at one time or other we were testing or evaluation a steady stream of new parts. All of the parts are quality in every possible way either NOS like the lighted horse corral or the best reproductions from Daniel Carpenter or Scott Drake or California Pony cars. All companies we act as dealers for now or act as product development consultants.

Of course every single socket has our superbright LEDs. Even the headlights! This car posses the first legal LED headlights on a classic care anywhere. Stock headlight bulbs can be put back in within a couple of minutes if you want a more standard look. The car is sort of a concept car in this regard. Who knows perhaps in 30 years this will be as valuable as one of those Buick turbine cars Jay Leno has! We hope so because that would mean Mustang Project was a big success which we all want it to be!

As attached as we get to these cars we have to move on and do our work on new products for new cars. So we will sell this one get others and create more new “Mustang Projects”.

We are looking at a cash sale only -- no trades for this one. Lots of Pictures attached and more at the link. We can email more as requested.

This car is perfect for two kinds of buyers. 1) someone who wants to enjoy a classic car but who does not have the time or facilities to do a real ground up restoration. You can get in this car and cruise anywhere. The engine runs as new from the factory and the performance will snap your head back against the headrests if you want it to. On the other hand you can cruise all day without a care smoothly and more quietly than most vintage mustangs. This car can be driven anywhere with total confidence. The response to people seeing the car is astounding. You will be instantly attractive just by driving this car -- guaranteed. Or 2) Someone who wants a classic car investment. The car will certainly only increase in value the price is very reasonable as we have to move on with business to push more projects out the door --now. The high quality restoration super early VIN number make this a car of potentially perfect quality.

Asking price is a very reasonable $26,750 . See below for companies who finance and transport and the like. We don’t know these companies so there is no linkage. Lots of VMF folks live in the Austin area so if you are distant I am sure you can have someone you know through the forum come see and drive it or take more pictures. Picture requests are gladly honored just ask.

Finally the car is on sale locally so we might take this posting down at any time.
