I need to sell my 66 coupe to raise money to build a new house.
This was owned by a Ford executive in Bostan, MA. I bought it 5 years ago and started the restoration but never completed it. All needed metal work was done by a professional welder.
It only needed a partial driver front floor, lower rear quaters and the trunk suport crossmember. All panels are original but the fenders could use replacement. I have a pair of brand new fenders that go with the car. The car is solid throughout.
It is a 2 barral 289 C code with C4 automatic trans. It is pretty well loaded with power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, tinted windows, clutch fan, pony interior, deluxe wooden steering wheel, full floor console, am/8 track. Exterior color is yellow. Door tag color section is blank which means it was a special order paint job. It has been painted once but the original color was some yellow color. The interior is parchment with ivy green accents, such as the trim on the seats, the dash and the carpeting. Woodgrain dash trim. The paint is presentable. The interior is nice but has some small tears here and there. I have a new carpet for it, not installed. The chrome and stainless on the car is superb, both inside and out.
I did a lot to the car. I have over $7500 into the car, including the $3K I paid for it 5 years ago. Everything underneath is new; Suspension; upper and lower arms, springs, bushings, tie rods, steering, u-joints, brakes; shoes, wheel cylinders, brake hoses, hardware kits, stainless steel fuel and brake lines, original style exhaust, radial tires. When the parts were off, I sandblasted them and painted them with epoxy primer first. The backing plates were powder coated. I had the original carburetor rebuilt and the car runs and drives great. I even kept all of the old stuff just in case.
It needs; new deluxe door panels, small tear in drivers seat repaired, carpet and package tray shelf installed (included), paint job, engine and engine compartment detailed.
What it really needs is a new owner who wants a nicely loaded, solid classic Mustang and wants to get their hands dirty finishing the restoration.
Like i stated, I have over $7500 into the car, with receipts. i am open to offers.
Pictures of the car can see viewed at the following link;
