1969 Ford Mustang
COBRA JET 428 Mach 1
VIN# 9F02R124xxx

On EBay, Auction # 130254578228

Buy It Now Price is $ 14,000.

We are offering a very complete 1969 “R” Code 428 Mustang Mach 1 Rolling Chasis.

We have a friend who is offering a correctly code dated 428 Cobra Jet engine for this Mach 1, which is being sold separately.
We can also help you find the correct C-6 transmission to help you get this Beautiful Classic Mustang back on the road.

We began restoration at our complete shop at MustangBeginnings to fix the body on this Mach 1, but we thought maybe someone would like to do some of the work and save some money. It really doesn't need that much.
If the car does not sell now, we will begin a full restoration as soon as the auction ends, and the price will be much higher when we are finished.

The car is currently Calypso Coral, but was originally a Black Jade Mach 1 with Black Out Hood Treatment. The Mach 1 can be repainted to any color of your choice, but the original Black on Black Jade is a great combination.

The Mach 1 has a 3.5 Traction Lok axle 9” rear end, which was a special order for this car and will help spin the tires all the way down the block.

The car has its original Sports Deck fold down rear seat plus the original High Back Front Bucket seats are still in the car. Other original options included Power Steering, Power Front Disk Brakes, Tilt away steering wheel, AM Radio, visibility group, and tinted glass. When fully restored, this 428 Cobra Jet Mach 1 will easily sell for $95,000 to $100,000.

The frame of this Mach 1 is in good condition and straight which makes it a relatively easy car to restore. The floor pans on the drivers side and passenger front side will need to be replaced, as will the lower quarter panels. You can see that we have the replacement pieces tacked in place.
The doors and the hood are in good condition.
If you are not up for doing the auto bodywork yourself, we have the experience and the knowledge at MustangBeginnings.com to do the job properly.
The cost for replacing the floors and doing all the bodywork is $2,500.
Add another $2,500 if you would like the Mach 1 in final paint.
Overall this Mustang is a great candidate for restoration because it is so complete.

The interior will need work but the good news is that you can see what is needed. You aren’t accepting someone else’s mistakes or bad repairs. All the wiring is in the car and seems to be in good condition. Dash is in good shape but the dash pad will need replacing or recovering. The seats will, of course, need to be reupholstered, and new carpet is needed as well. The rear fold down seat is included as well. The door panels are also there, but you probably want new ones anyway. We can do a complete interior restoration for $2,000.

ENGINE: Our friend has a correctly code dated engine that is being sold separately. This Mach 1 was built on November 15th, 1968. The "rule of thumb is that the engine should be cast 3 weeks to 3 months ahead of the build date of the car. Here are the details on that engine package:The "8J" (September 1968) block and engine parts listed below are good for this Mach 1.. Block 8J, Heads 8J, Intake 8J, water pump 8J - $3900 - No guarantee, these are core parts that can be remanufacturedWith rotating assembly: crankshaft, rods, - $4600With above, plus harmonic balancer, crank spacer, thrust plate, oil slinger, fuel pump eccentric, valve train, drip rails, valley pan, oil filter adapter, 428CJ Mustang/Cougar Oil Pan - $5000Freight is responsibility ot the buyer.

ENGINE BAY:The engine bay on the car is in great condition, and ready for cleaning and paint. The battery bay will need a little work but not much. The original 428 Cobra Jet engine is not included, nor is original C-4 Cruise-o-matic Transmission. Both engine and transmission are available from our friend, but you may have your own engine and we also have a couple of more friends with rebuilt engines and transmissions for sale.

The Mach 1 has its original power front disk brakes.
They are intact and complete, and a great addition to any Mustang.

The original Tilt away steering wheel is included, and the Power Steering is also included with the car. Both options will make this an easy car to drive.

The Mach 1 also has good door glass and side window glass. The windows roll up and down. The car has no cracks in the windshield or real window, but there are a couple of scratches that can be buffed out.

This Mustang was built on November 15th, 1968, four days behind schedule. Mustangs were popular then and they are more popular today.
The Mustang comes with head light buckets, seats, and most all of its parts. I have a couple of contacts for all the other NOS stuff you may need.
