Well it has been a little while now since I got it running again. Still no leaks from the engine - but the tranny (C4) does leak and that will probably be my next project. The car still needs a good tuneup but I have been able to drive it around the neighborhood - and it's fine for short drives. Thanks to all who helped me along on the engine compartment saga. I learned so much - and feel good about the results.
