I don't blame you for going a different route... I don't think I'd want a return line being fed by an electric fuel pump running through the trunk either. I'd imagine that if you've got a high flow pump that some amount of gas will spash towards the gas cap.

What a most folks do us run the return line through the tank drain bung, or plumb a return line into the fuel sender like you ended up doing ( me too ).
