With the mustangs to fear headliner I have about 1.5-2" between the top of my head and the liner. I'm about 5'10" so take that into consideration also.

Got some small stuff done tonight. My K&N 14x3 filter with 7/8" drop base showed up today so I installed it temporarily with a 1/4x2.5" bolt and finished tuning in the carb and timing. I measured for a carb stud and made sure everything is going to clear the stock hood. I ordered a 2.7" stainless ARP carb stud from summit so hopefully it will be here tomorrow and I can call the engine bay complete for now. After that I drained the 8 gallon gas of fuel that I put in the tank thinking that it was staying in the car. Once I had everything drained I unbolted the tank and removed the filler and fuel lines. I decided to respray the area where the tank sits in the trunk while I have it out. The tank will be here tomorrow but all the hardware, caulking rope and sending unit won't be here until Thursday so I'll have to wait until then to button it up. Only thing that I'm unsure of right now is the chrome cover on the K&N air cleaner. I'm thinking about wrinkle painting it to match the valve covers and leaving the K&N logo chrome. Let me know if you guys think I should paint it or leave it be.

67 Coupe Restomod build

Got the new tank installed last night. I decided to leave the spare tire out of the trunk considering it was from the old 4 lug running gear. I got the car out tonight for its first shakedown run. Everything went as smooth as I hoped it would. I didn't bring it over 3k rpm as I was just trying to bed the brakes and warm up the tranny and rear end for the first time. 1st gear feels really short with the 3.50 rear gear but overall I'm very pleased with how it ran and rode on the new suspension. The Viking coilovers up front and the split mono leafs, caltracs, and Viking shocks rode impressively smooth. I tuned the 4 corner idle on the quick fuel carb and maxed out with 13.5 inches of vacuum which seems right in the ballpark for an E303 cam. Throttle response was crisp right off idle so I'm happy with the tune for now until I put some more break in miles on it and get the chance to wind it out a little bit.
