We have been hammering away on this build for the last year and wanted to share our progress as we finish it up for the Goodguys North Carolina Nationals.
We, Gt Graphics and Customs, are a full restoration shop out in Franklin, North Carolina. We do restorations/custom builds from mild to wild and everything in between. We have over 1,800 hours in this one!
Here are some pics of right before it arrived
The customer thought the car was pretty solid, but after we dug into it it had some pretty extensive rust and body damage.
Thanks! I don't know what happened to the other site... I think they'll be back up in April after their bandwidth limits reset.
We are hoping to fire this bad boy next week. Buttoning up the fuel lines and a few bits of wiring today and tomorrow. Then it'll be on the rack to weld up the side pipes and electric cut outs. Then it should be ready to fire and start tuning on it!
That color looks absolutely amazing. Even though they probably won't do it justice, please post some high resolution pictures in the sun around completion, because it has to be a sight to behold. Awesome job on the build.
Yes absolutely will. You can tell which pictures are from and I-phone and which are from a real camera in the thread.. for some reason the iPhone pictures make it look maroon where as the actual camera pictures show what the color really looks like in person. At worst, we'll get some good pictures from the show we will be at on the 28th. Thanks for checking the build out!
Looks like a pretty crazy over the top build and it looks pretty awsome too..........but I have to ask....why a AODE and why what looks like a "stock" Coyote?
A VMP blower and a T56 magnum would take this car to different level all together.
The customer did not want to row gears, so it was a pretty easy decision to move to the 4R.. He has plans for a Kenne Bell or TT set up but wants to drive the car for a bit before adding it. When we created the front valence and were fitting the grills and bumper, we specifically left enough room for a FMIC. So he is set up to be able to have his pick of forced induction when he is ready for it.
No worries at all. The customer wanted 6 piston front and 4 piston rears. They will be plenty for this car. He has no plans for auto-cross or anything like that. Thanks for the compliments on the work!
Can't wait to see a pic of the dash all put together. I've been debating on whether to go with silver or charcoal around the gauges similar to what was done here. Everything looks fantastic so far!
Thanks for checking us out! The customer is really happy with the Silver around the gauges.. We couldn't find anything online that he liked so we ended up making this one :smile2:
I absolutely love the valance, way more aesthetic than the Ring Brothers Dragon valence. Do you do any widebody fabrication? I love the blended look of aero & classic on a few of the autoX 67's & 68's out there but no one offers anything for the 69!
We absolutely do. Our customer on this car was running into some of the same problems you describe so we fabricated this one for him.
Give us a call at 828-349-1969 and ask for Gary. I'm sure we can work something out for ya!
