Same here, lots of measurements. But I still get gun shy about getting too far ahead on tear down without getting some new metal back on. Wish I had the advantage of another car there for reference.

Brian replaced the left frame rail section





Lining up the shock tower using the original drilled out spot welds for an alignment guide.

Rusty, this comes up a lot here... what do you do about the vins on a car like that?

The fender apron with the vin I believe we can save if not it would be cut out and attached to the new fender apron. I would take pictures before and afterwards showing the rust repair.

The right front frame rail had a lot of rust





Brian cut it off and repaired it the same way as the left side

I epoxy primed while I was waiting for the front crossmember and left fender apron.

We have not made a lot of progress on this project. Brian fit and welded the strut rod and sway bar brackets





I epoxy primed the engine compartment

I sanded the front valance, headlight buckets, and end caps down to bare metal than epoxy primed.





I block sanded than did a little bodywork.





Next another coat of SPI epoxy to seal everything





I sprayed a couple of coats of Slick Sand

Do you guys just do the metal repair or will you bring this car all the way back to the point that the customer drives it home?

We do it both ways but on this project the customer will be driving it home when we are finished.
