This past weekend I was busy continuing with my rehab of interior hard parts. I removed the weatherstripping from the interior upper door trim panels, cleaned & repainted them, removed the old paint from the drivers side seat tracks & repainted them & reinstalled them on the seat, & repainted the glove box door & hinge.

I have 2 questions.
How do you get the paint to stick in this cold weather?
How do you do it without your wife upset that the whole house smells like paint?

Joe,
I wait to paint when the temp is in the 40's & I paint outside the garage & so far have had no problems with the paint not sticking. Here in south Jersey the winter temps are "usually" in the low to mid 40's.

The past few days it was in the low 50's so I painted the lower dash, now I just have to reassemble it.

This weekend I spent a few hours & cleaned the wiper motor & the mounting bracket. I then repainted the body of the motor & the bracket satin black. I covered the part # C9ZF17504C & the build date 10/28/1968 the was printed on the body before painting so I didnt cover them with paint.

Rewelded the bracket on to the release handle for the E-brake assembley, repainted it & reinstalled it on the E-brake assembley.

Yesterday I cut out the rotted section of the r/s trunk drop off & fitted the replacement piece. Now I just have to weld it in.

Between yesterday & today I made a couple patches for the r/s trunk drop off patch panel & welded them up because they are the wrong size & in the wrong spots. I also cut out a rotted spot in the front lower section of the inner wheel house where it meets the outer wheel house, & cut & fitted a patch piece from a repo inner wheel house instead of replacing the whole inner wheel house.
Mike.
