I've been working on the engine all along and I looked back and found the last engine picture I had posted. I've also included the most recent picture of the engine. Still work to do, like finding good date coded exhaust manifolds and I have to get a fan as well, but I'm happy with how she's looking. Wife wants to go listen to some live music tonight...so, I'm out of here.

Live Music Night Off

Ok, non-related but this is my (and my wife's) night out. Live band, food and maybe a drink...

So still needing an alternator for the engine I decide to just send one of my guys to NAPA and pick one up instead of searching for an Autolite and it being correct for the engine. Well, lo and behold, he brings back an Autolite alternator. It's little things that amaze me sometimes.

A few things left on the engine...fuel pump, belts, thermostat, bolt kit for exhaust manifolds, some paint touch up, fluids, spark plug wire holders, hoses...but getting very very close...

As close as you and I...wait your two are probably closer than I am to either of you. Maybe I need to come South. Wait I have been saying I was going to do that for at least 4 years now. I think a trip to the Big Easy is in order.

Allen, nice 66 GT! I'm impressed how well the floors turned out with the naval jelly.

Got the gas pedal linkage in as well as the steering column gasket. Fuel pump and oil filter is installed. Read a post by 22GT about drilling a hole in the thermostat so you won't have any need to "burp" the system when filling with water/antifreeze. Also per his post make sure the hole (1/16") is at the top. I ruined one by drilling the hole in the bottom of the thermostat (JOKE).

I really got to thinking today about this car and it hit me that every nut and bolt on it will have been installed by me. That could be rewarding or have me mad as hell at myself whichever the case may be.
