Default Beware CJPParts "loyalty points"

I bought 4 tires from CJPParts and was entitled to a $150 gift certificate but they didn't give me the Gift certificate because I used $10 "loyalty points" to pay for the tires.
I have spent many thousnds of dollars with CJPParts but didn't ever expect to get cheated.

You didn't get cheated , Not at all. Quit your belly aching. They didn't have to give you anything , think about that.
You are the one who used your points .

I agree. I don't think you were cheated, but I do think that is a poorly designed policy. I would have given you credit for all but the amount of loyalty points you used. At least now I know, so thanks for the heads-up!

Wll i can say i don't agree with there web site either, seems to me the web site would tell you when u check out that ur not going to rec'd gift cards if u use your loyality points. i bot some bumpers just for the gift cards to use future purchase and and low and behold after the fact no gift cards, contacted them and to no avail. i said well u mean my 5.00 dicount cost me 90.00 in gift cards, he said yes. I said are u sure u can't do any thing about it. Nope, oh well i can. Thanks

If you bought online then check the cart... the gift certificates always show up in the cart if you're going to get them! I tried to do the same (use the points) and it took the cards out. So you just need to pay attention. 99.99% of the time discounts don't stack.

I'm not a fan of their rpm points or whatever they're called. Pretty worthless as far as I'm concerned. If they didn't expire they'd be pretty nice, but I've never been able to redeem any because they expire so quick. Anyways OP, I don't think you really got cheated here. Mislead is more like it.

My solution is not to participate in the gift card gimic.

It's not a gimic. It's simple when we run this promotion, you purchase enough parts to meet the requirements needed to obtain the giftcard(s) and then you have 30 days to spend what is essentially free money? I don't understand why this is such an issue. I have heard that people didn't know that there was an expiration date on them, but our site says it, when I post it here I say it and when you get your order your invoice says it so it's safe to say we make it very clear that you have 30 days to use them.

As far as what happened here it's simple, yes I am going to take care of the gentleman when he contacts me, but think of RPM Rewards as your own personal sale. As with all of our sales and promotions you can never "double dip" what ever sale is going on at the time of purchase is the main discount/promotion. If you choose to use your RMP Rewards it then knocks the current sale/promotion out of the picture. RPM Rewards once again is Free Money to use towards future purchase. RPM Rewards are great for when that sale is going on but that item you want isn't on sale or if there isn't a sale at all. There are no hidden agendas or scams going on, we are giving you money back to use on future purchases, 1000's of customers use this have no issues with it I honestly thing some just over analyze it.

As far as RPM points expiring, it's no different than your Best Buy Rewards Gift Cert expiring if you don't use it in time. Our last reset was the end of January and if you notice we actually extended the current expiration date out to the end of April that's 3 month to earn and spend your rewards.

I hope this clears up whatever misconceptions you all may have about the RPM Rewards or how sales/promotions do not stack.

I just got my friendly reminder mine were about to expire. Earlier this month I earned something like 904 points. That equates to a $45 discount on my next order.
When I placed my order earlier this month, I forgot to add the rear seat foam to it.
I just got it for $45 less because I forgot about it.
Works good for me!!
Guys, learn to work the system and make it work for you! This is a good reason to save up and buy a lot of parts at once, and a few more within a 30 day window.

So who do I complain to about my lost 4 points

If you were told ahead of time that using the any kind of 'points' would negate any gift certificates- that's one thing. But to find out afterwards-I have to agreee- gets filed under BS. I'd say this one falls into their lap to inform you at the time of sale; provided of course it's not online. It sounds like the online version is there (icons appearing and such). I too have bought alot from CJ (100% satisfied so far) and will continue to do so- I just make sure to call and ASK at the time of purchase if there are any deals I can get.
