Get a load of this...

I wasn't going to post this but its just too ridiculous not to share. CJ gets a big WTF on this one and they deserve to have this posted. My wife calls me to tell me my new antenna is in, but I won't believe how they packed it. Yup. The box is too small but DON'T LET THAT STOP YOU! I don't know how it arrived seemingly undamaged. Of course I won't know until I do the install. Kudos to UPS and USPS locally for not destroying it. I'm sure they had a good chuckle. CJ seriously?

Todd: Do you really want everyone to see your address?

Dumb, dumb, dumb - how did the person packing that not see the antenna didn't fit?

Oh, they saw it all right. I've seen a few weird packing jobs from CJ's in the past few years. I suspect it is just one person in the shipping dept. that needs to find another line of work. I am editing this to include an example. I ordered a grille that was packed and padded on one end of the box only. Guess which end took a hit during shipping? I sent it back and got another. UPS payed for the damaged one, but if it had been packed properly in the first place, there would have been no damage. CJ Pony was off the hook on that one, and UPS took the hit. Unfair.

Garage
Just received a similar shipment from CJ. The box was so beat up that some of the parts were missing. Had to send pictures of the damaged box and cracked trunk board before CJ would replace the damaged and missing parts. The post office wrapped the box with shipping tape after they received it to keep the rest of the parts in the box.

That's outrageous. I have two items I'm still waiting for. One is a panhard bar for my '14. Luckly that's pretty hard to damage. The other is a drop shipment so at least they don't have an opportunity to eff it up.

After that CJ will be my last resort. What a bummer. They have alot of product. I just can't trust them now.

Oh and the antenna works fine. I installed it tonight.

So my CJ boycott lasted 30 minutes. I need a new horn button for my fastback and I had 400 reward points so... LOL

I would like to see Steve comment on this thread. I realize he is on vacation so I'll patiently wait. Realistically I'm not going to "walk away" from CJ over this. But somebody has to take this issue and the stories here back to CJ management and slap some sense into them. This is bad for their reputation and this is what... the #1 site for vintage Mustangs? We need to have confidence CJ isn't going to trash our parts before they even leave the warehouse!

I have always liked CJ. I love their videos and their site and the general parts availability. They are a boon for the mustang community. Just for heavens sake do something about the damn warehouse guys. Clearly they ain't cuttin it. I was going to order some Velgens from them for my '14 but I simply cannot afford to have 3K worth of wheels trashed going out the door. So I'll wait to see what CJ has to say...

That's what I have now. I have been thinking about painting it the green they used on the 1994 Taurus. Always liked that color, but may be too bright for an essentially stock build. Thanks for the pix.

Wheels are already packaged all we do is slap a shipping label on them out out the door they go.

As far as your last shipping experience I will be forwarding this to my shipping department and have them investigate what's going on back there. In the mean time PM your information so I can do something on my end for you. I will take care of this when I get in tomorrow morning.

Hi Steve. I contacted CJ when I ordered some Velgen wheels for my '14 GT. I sent them these pics as well after expressing concerns about how they would handle the wheel shipping. It certainly can't hurt if you follow up with them. I've had generally very positive experiences with CJ. I've gotten calls when things are on back order and things ship out pretty fast. Besides antenna-gate my only other gripe is the lack of inventory status during ordering. But that hasn't stopped me from making 4-5 additional orders since this whole antenna thing. Heck I just ordered a CJ T-Shirt with my RPM points Ha ha
