About to purchase a '66 C-code with stock upper end. Wanting to do the top end. Aluminum or cast iron.

You may also what to check out Skip White Performance heads. They get good reviews. Cost only $689 and reportedly are cast to replicate a ported Dart head. They are supposedly cast in Australia and Skip White assembles them in TN using brand name components like Mellings or Comp springs, Viton seals, decent Comp Cams retainers and springs. For the money and a mild to moderate build their flow numbers look really nice.

Comparing stock heads, to those FloTechs, to an expensive head like the AFR 165s; are the FloTechs a worthwhile upgrade for a street car? I mean if a set of AFRs add 40hp (random value) then do flotechs add around 20-30 since they're around 60% the cost of AFR 165s?
