You don't need a template at all- just a ruler, a pencil, a center punch and a hammer. All you're doing is drilling 4 new holes 1" below each of the existing holes.
I transferred the dimensions of a paper template to a scrap piece of plexi glass using a hammer and sharp punch .then I drilled the top holes to actual size and the bottom holes to an 1/8 inch and bolted the piece to the shock tower .
you could do the same thing with cardboard, scrap plastic, wood paneling ,an index card , ect.
Thanks fellas. As I read your responses and checked out those links, I wondered what I was worried about. Compared to all the other things I've done to my car, this looks like one of the more straight-forward things to do. Thanks again!
I tried to find a full size printable template link ,I don't recall what one I used...
I just checked I used the printable version from OpenTracker I don't however seem to find it on their page any more
Same here although I haven't actually measured mine yet.
I can't find my pic of it but I had at least 1/2"+ of shims under each all four spots. There is a max amount of allowable "shimmage" listed somewhere, I think 1/2", I was well above that. My template was either 3/16 or 1/4 so I guessed it wouldnt hurt any.
I used the original holes to hold the template and left the bolts in to fill the holes.
OP, you need to have a plan in case you find some common cracks around the arms mounting spots:surprise:
