casting #s 1969 mach 1 4 valve 351 windsor

Getting conflicting info for block casting #s C9OE-6015-B
Mustang-Tek shows that this casting # could be for 69 mustang or 69 Shelby GT 350
Classic Mustang shows the second letter Z for the mustang designation and O for a 69 Fairlane or Torino
Have called several restoration resources and still get conflicting results. Need to find out what the block
casting # would be for 4 valve windsor out of a 1969 Mach 1

First, it's not a "4 valve", it's a "4 venturi" as in 4 carburetor venturis or a "4 barrel" as it's commonly called.

C9OE is correct for a '69 Mach 1 with a 351W, both 2V (H) and 4V (M). The O means that the Fairlane/Torino group was responsible for the design work on that block regardless of which body it was going into- Fairlane, Torino, Mustang, Galaxie or whatever.

The Boss 302 block has a C9ZE casting number because the Mustang group designed that block. And the Mustang group designed it because the Mustang and Cougar were the only bodies that engine was ever used in.

In your defense many engines in recent years (since 90s) are 4 valve per cylinder. Long ago 4 venturi carbs were often called 4 bbl.
