I'm restoring a candy apple red 69 Mach 1. Is there a certain Mach 1 strip color that was used with this color or can I use the black or gold stripe?

Stripe options are:
Black Reflective/Gold
Gold Reflective/White
Red Reflective/Gold

If you are lucky enough to have a build sheet, there is a code on it that can tell you which stripe your car came with. I've seen black/gold and gold/white on candy apple red cars. PM me with your e-mail address and I can send you a couple pictures of cars with both stripes

My info says it depends on the interior color. Black interior had the black/gold stripe, white interior had the white/gold stripe and red interior had a "gold" stripe - not sure what that is.

I do have a picture of an unrestored red/red Mach 1 and the stripes look gold with a light gold reflective center.

My 69 CJ R code Mach1 car is candyapple red with black interior 4 speed. It has the black and gold stripe kit. Mine came from Metuchen plant. It might go to the assembly plant as well not sure. Hope this helps.

The color keyed to the interior makes sense. I don't have a build sheet. I assume that the darker colors wouldn't use the black stripe. I prefer the Black/Gold stripe and wanted to make sure that this was an factory combination with the darker candy red. Thanks for confirming that this is the case.

I have seen lots of pictures, however, it's hard to tell if the color in photo is Candy or the brighter red.

Thanks for your feedback.

Mine are Gold and White on my Candyapple Red. Looks good. I can't tell you if those colors were the original colors. My interior is red. Hope that helps. I'd attach a picture if I knew how.
