Correct seats for 68 GT

I've seen two different types of seat covers; standard covers where you use the metal buttons to make it a deluxe seat and Comfortweave seat covers. Were the comfortweave seats available for 68 GT's or was that just and option for Shelby's? Interior trim code is 7A.

The 68 GT could be ordered with standard or the deluxe interior. Each was separate from the other, like AC, PS, tilt wheel ......

7A would suggest a standard bucket seat interior in black

The metal buttons make it deluxe interior whether or not comfortweave.

Comfortweave was NOT available on 68 convertibles.

Look at the 68 Shelbys. The fastbacks got comfortweave but the convertibles did not.

I put comfortweave in my 68 vert anyway. Looks better IMO and much cooler to sit on. Had to have them custom made.

I believe the thinking was the TRUE comfort weave would allow seat padding to get soaked in a vert if the top was left down in the rain!

I have a '70 Torino GT vert with original factory TRUE comfort weave inserts. Evidently the thinking changed! TRUE comfort weave is great...especially on a vert!

Just a warning. If you buy reproduction seat upholstery with "comfort weave" it is simulated embossed vinyl not real breathing comfort weave!
