my car has no door tag, and i was unable to get a vin verification due to only one visible VIN. where are the vin numbers located in the rear? i don't really want to be cleaning my whole rear wheel wells/frame in search of a little vin. I'm surprised i didn't see it when i cleaned the underside of my car i have a sj car by the way.

thanks

There are no VINs located on the rear of of a 65, that I am aware of. The "hidden" VINs are located on the front fender aprons under the lip of the fender. There should be one on both the left and right sides. They are located farther back than the visable VIN. You will have to remove, or at least lift the fenders to see them, provided that the aprons haven't been replaced.

If the car doesn't have a lot of sound deadener you might be able to see them from below. There are a total of three VINs stamped in the unibody of a 65. The only other place the VIN appears on a 65 is on the transmission and engine of the K codes. You can use these photos for reference from below, or crack the fenders loose and look in these locations from above. If you can't find all three numbers you have more work to do to determine if the car has been hit and had sheet metal replaced.

Drivers side should have two:

Passenger side should have one:
