Default Correct 66 Clutch Fork

Which is the correct clutch fork style for a late March 66 San Jose car with a 289? In the pic below would it be the 65 style on top or the later more symmetrical service replacement/repop style shown on the bottom? Thanks!

Does anyone with a later 66 4-speed car still have their original clutch fork? Thanks.

I have a 66 4 speed car, but the gearbox decodes to a 64 mustang, although the fork is original. If this is any help i can take a pic tomorrow if you like.

Ian.

Hi Ian, a picture of your original fork would be great. Thanks! Dave

Hi Dave, Hope this is of some help to you. Although my car is a 66 Metuchen, with a build date of 11 nov 65, the gearbox decodes to a 64.

Ian.

No problems Dave. BTW what 66 do you have, f/b, coupe or convertible?

Ian.

Ian, I have a 66 GT350, 6S1757, late March 66 San Jose build. I'm fairly certain it has the original fork but it is the later style in the bottom picture above. Unless I can find someone with a car at least as late as mine with that style fork I guess I'll be on the lookout for the style you have. Thanks again for the pics. Dave
