Default What's the correct color paint/finish for a RUG-E3 Toploader

Getting ready to install my Rug E-3 Toploader 4-speed in my car (69 351W) and I'm thinking of detailing it beforehand, but wanted to make sure it looks correct. What color is it supposed to be? What about the bellhousing?

MCA judging rule for '69-70 tranmisson states ...

Exterior surface natural finish ( cast aluminum or cast iron ).

So, no paint on either tranny or BH. I plan to paint my toploader for my '66 FB w/ hi-temp exhaust manifold paint -- close enough for me but not concours correct. Dean

You can paint it if you want it to continue looking nice. This trans is painted "natural".
