1966 Starter Solenoid

I have a 1966 coupe that I show in MCA Concourse. I just bought a replacement starter solenoid. The new one has the following on top:
FoMoCo, C4AF11450A, Repco. The unit I'm replacing has FoMoCo and 2701986 on top.

The catalog I ordered from has both units available, and both are listed as concourse correct for my 1966.

I'm just wondering why two different units are considered concourse correct. Maybe different suppliers. I just want to make sure that my new unit will be accepted by MCA judges, as my 2701986 has been. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Give us the stats on your car: date and location of build etc....

My car was build in Dearborn, early July 1966. It is a 6 cyl with factory air.

Yes, They are both correct... As stated, It would depend on Plant, Build date, etc., but I would thinl either would be acceptable.

I know where a 66 convt has been sitting in a garage for over 20 years. Next week I'll try to arrange to see it. Wiring is original. I'll take a photo and post it.

No, the car is not for sale. The car belonged to the guy's mother-in law. He intends to eventually fix a minor rust problem and drive it. If he changes his mind I'm #1 on it.

I have a 66 fastback that has the C4AF solenoid. When I talked to Kevin Marti about it at one of the anniversaries, he mentioned that the C4AF solenoid was made by a second supplier and thus often being used if there was a shortage of the ordinary one. In my case the car is built mid october at the Metuchen plant where there was a shortage (according to Kevin) about that time.

Hi Guys,
This is just the thread that I have been after! My very original 66 GT Coupe has the C4AF11450A Repco with FoMoCo in a rectangle. It is a Dec 5th - 7th 1965 build at Metuchen. Is this the correct item or should i get the 2701986?
