What happened with PetesPonies?

I notice he is no longer listed as a member but a guest. No posts for a while.

Anybody know what's going on with Pete?

Thanks

he'd be on that "other site"

and although he could come off as rough around the edges at times, which never bothered me personally, I too miss his knowledgeable replies

he does have a Fb page too

He'd rant once in awhile if you didn't agree with, but I felt he was a straight shooter and was a very valuable resource. It's unfortunate the forum has lost his input...hopefully the other regular contributors stick around. I have just started my learning curve and need you guys.

As I recall PP had only been here 3 or 4 years and in that time he accumulated some 15,000 posts. IIRC Pete joined shortly after barnett468 was banned and many assumed PP was b468 posting under a new name.

I knew PP when we were on the old FOMOCO site that was shut down by Ford several years ago. He was not b468.
He always gave good info and had little tolerance for someone that didn't agree with him.
On the FOMOCO site a 'bite me' would come after someone disagreed and wanted to argue with PP.

I found him on FB.

I think PP was actually a member for a while. He only gained stardom in his later years. B468 on the other hand burned his bridges quickly.

Angry Pete......I could see why the folks he argued with were upset with him. My way or the highway types are always a little grating, but he does know and understand alot about body and paint work, and cars in general. Plus being the high school shop teacher must have embolded him to say things the way he said them to those with differing thoughts....I think once he started doing a little paid work in his new home garage he is just taking a break from VMF! Isaw one of those ford econoline vans decorated up as an art project in someones front yard on my way thru DE to Ocean City MD last night and actually thought about him and how his project might be doing!

He was a little bit rough around the edges and definitely wasn't afraid to tell you what he thought or how you should do something. Him and I got into it a couple times with arguing, nothing crazy but it's rather difficult to tell how someone is saying something when you don't personally know them and they say it via text online. You start to think to yourself "ok is this just the way the dude is or is he trying to be a d*ck?" I wasn't ever really offended or anything but he always did come across as grumpy to me. That being said, he definitely knows a fair deal about cars and had pretty decent advice on a lot of things, even if he was a bit gruff at times.

The reason for the permanent ban was not the result of any argument or something said. This might be a good time for one of your music video contributions, this one by the Beatles: "Let it be".
