Anyone have any pranks backfire today?

The only one I tried was on SWMBO and one daughter. I was assigned some dusting chores which required the use of a 6' ladder. I setup the area to look like I fell off the ladder and was injured/unconscious. It did not go over well, scared them too much...or maybe it was because I was still alive and SWMBO could not spend the life insurance $$$.

Told my dad I saw a 65 Turbo Corvair for $200. He didn't even blink. I thought it would work since he drove one back in the day and loved it. Guess not.

I "borrowed" a realtors for sale sign and stuck it in our front yard. When the neighbors started calling I told them that we had fallen behind with mortgage payments since I lost my job back in december. Some of them thought my sense of humor was a bit out of line.... :p

Haha. I sometimes do that on the weekends. Drive around the neighborhood and pick up a few for sale signs and then place them in friends' yards.

As for April Fool's pranks, I did none. I forgot it was the first until about 2:00.

I know of someone who has a really cool vintage Mustang site. His prank was to say that he sold the site, and as a result several Mustang owners jumped off an overpass simultaniously, falling onto a truck full of new Chevy Cobalt SS's. That prank backfired horribly.

I think Craig was selling Red as a April Fools joke....but it backfired.
Not only did he sell it but now he has 'No Looking Back' as a son-in-law.

That's funny, my daughter and her friend found a realtors sign and put it in our front yard. SWMBO came home and asked me if we were moving. If I had been thinking quick, I would have told her I had put the house up for sale. She doesn't ever want to move, but I would like to buy a house with a pole barn or at least room to build one.

I guess mine backfired since only you and DEL 65 recognised my post as an April Fools Joke. For those that missed it please see below.

Saturday I visited a long-time friend who has been involved with the leadership of the Shelby club since its inception, we went to the very first national event held in Oakland, Ca. together. He has owned many different Ford Muscle cars including a Factory GT40 and presently owns a 65 GT350 and a 67 Cobra. He is not in the least bit interested in the value of the cars, he loves them, and believes they were built to be driven and driven hard.

Jim, as I will call him, is a very successful and respected business person. Because of our long-term friendship, and our mutual love of Ford performance vehicles he has advised me of many financial opportunities. Some I took advantage of, and many others I wish I had. If there were only two words to describe him they would be "straight shooter," definitely a no BS type of guy. However, what he revealed to me is not verifiable and is I believe worthy of some skepticism.

In a nut shell this is what he said, "There is an influential group within the Club who believe that since CS had no involvement with the 68-70 Shelby's they could make a killing by pushing for the inclusion of the other Shelby namesakes, i.e., the Cobra 2's and the Fox body GT-350's." They are of the opinion that the mere inclusion of the above cars into the Registry would bring great financial reward to those fortunate enough to own or acquire these cars prior to any official announcement. Knowing his strong disdain for the late comers who are buying Shelby's purely for the profit potential, I did not find it difficult to start believing what he was telling me.

As we talked he invited me into his shop where I observed four Cobra 2's, a King Cobra 2, and an 85 Fox GT-350. These cars were in exceptional condition, the GT-350 however, does need upholstery work.
I was incredulous and at the same time an instant believer.

I know Jim and a number of other Shelby/Cobra owners who love to drive their cars, and aren't the least bit concerned about running them on the track. These guy's truly despise the Rolex Crowd with their "Investment Grade Trailer Queens." I believe they would like nothing better than to stick it to the "Yuppie, I don't want to get my hands dirty types," that unfortunately now make up the majority of the early Shelby/Cobra owners. So with that in mind and, the physical evidence in the barn I have absolutely no doubt as to Jim's veracity.

With that said, I am left with only one question, what would be the best investment, a Cobra 2, or an 85 GT-350 ? Thinking outside the box maybe a Dodge Shelby GLH? Your investment advise is appreciated.

Note, Jim did not ask for any confidentiality regarding the plan to include additional "namesakes."

Nope. Ever since I changed out the kitchen faucet to one of those things with the sprayer built into the main spout I can no longer rubber band the handle on the sprayer and nail the next person who uses the sink. Damn progress!
