This has to be one of my favorite shows right now. For those of you who haven't seen it, the show is on Discovery Channel and is basically a TV series documentary that records the happenings of 4-5 crab boats in the Bearing Sea. I was wondering if anyone else has seen it, and wanted to share their thoughts/opinions on it. I love this show, and it's making me want to go up to Alaska to be a fisherman.

It's one of the few shows I try to catch (get it?) regularly. I think they earn every penny. I get seasick just watching it and can't imagine how cold it must be working up there.

I love watching it. It's one of the few shows that I watch when it's on (instead of TiVo). I can definitally understand why crab is so expensive at the local super market and don't feel ripped off at all when paying top dollar.

It's one of the few current shows that exchevman and I watch together. We record it on Tuesday and watch it on Wednesdays. Of course, then on Thursdays, Dave wants crab for dinner.
I like crab but you wouldn't get me to do what they go through. I get mine at the store :p

I think it's a great show and well put together. I think I've seen every episode including the new one last night. Plus, some of the boats are from Seattle so that is kinda of cool.

Great Show. I dated a girl whose sister goes out on boats on those crab fishing trips. The show does not overstate the danger. She has the scars to prove it. Those people earn every penny.
A couple years ago my neighbor in my old apartment complex told me he was a deck hand for a crab boat. He'd be gone for a couple weeks at a time and then home for months, depending on the season. Luckily, he always made it back home (with fresh crab). :p I knew it was hard work but never knew how bad it could get up there in the Bering sea.

NOOOO I missed it! I went to bed early last night... for some reason I was exhausted.
They used to repeat the prior week before the current week... maybe I can catch it next week.
During college I spent two seasons commercial Salmon fishing outside of NorCal and Oregon. And I thought I had it tough. No comparrison to those crabers.
