Default Package Thieves

My sister told me that our house was on the news this morning. After getting her to calm down, I found it on the local news website and sure enough, there's been a string of package thefts in our neighborhood. Yuck.

I would say it's just a start.

Hmm. Last night when I got home there was a package on my porch. It was a framed pic of my niece and nephew. I could just imagine the disappointment on the thief's face if he had stolen that. lol. What is it with some people....sheesh.

I am so sorry to hear this OS. It is that time of year when crooks go out and try to "acquire" presents to give to their loved ones, at a huge discount. I love to hear when a Rottweiler gets ahold of one of these opportunistic idiots.

That's why I get all my packages delivered to the office. With no one home, I don't want anything sitting around there for easy pickings. At least when something does get delivered there, the UPS guy and mailman always put it out of sight behind the front patio wall.

You could also have them deliver to a neighbor if possible. I have mine delivered to the office as well.

Someone emptied our mail box two weeks ago. I found a bunch of junk mail on the front yard. A few days later I noticed an order containing some religious books didn't make it to the house. Most likely the package was stolen when my mail was rummaged thru. Maybe the books will go to someone more in need?

Last year around this time I was reading meters and one of the meters I read is at the end of the road in the ditch which is where I found a huge pile of mail for all the people on this road which is about 2 miles of country road, All the Christmas cards were open and checks and money were taken. I took the pile of mail to the post office and they sent a post master general out and about. Next day I see a car load of low life's stopped at a mail box but they sped off when they saw me, I couldn't get close enough to get license but I did get on the phone and call the sheriff office and they had a sheriff local so I give a description of the car. Later that day in another part of the district a sheriff had the low life's laying in the ditch with there hands behind there back. It was a good day!

Same thing happened to us about 15-16 years ago. My parents house was at the end of the road in the subdivision, the rest wasn't developed yet, it was just a rough dirt road through the trees in the undeveloped area. In late January when we had a snow melt we saw paper everywhere near the edge of our property the borders the dirt road. It was all Xmas cards torn open and scattered about. We helped an officer pick them up and he was going to drop them off at the post office the next day to be sorted out and attempt delivery with what was left.

Default Package Thieves

Last year 2 packages (Summit and Eastwood) and the White Elephant never made it to me. I figured they were all delivered the same day and stolen.

Well, what are you guys doing driving Porches and leaving packages in them?

There's an awful lot of alliteration in that otherwise grim article.

About 12 years ago the boxes left by UPS were a signal that no one was home and our house was robbed. They did not tear anything up and only took small items (jewelry, cameras, small safe, and money)that they could carry. However, they did not take the packages.

The idiots were caught the same night in Oakland but there were several items we did not get back.
