I just got a 2006 Mustang on Friday, but it didn't have a keyless remote that came with it. How can I go about finding which frequency or number I would need in order to get a transmitter?
If you got two chipped keys, you should be able to buy the one for your year/make/model and program it according to the owners manual.

Everything I read says transponder key.....the remotes run $15 and up.

I hope Ford doesn't try to rape you like Toyota wanted to with my wife's Camry. After she had her purse stolen, they wanted $250 for the key with built in remote and $150 for programming!
