Now I sure of your minds go to a Aerosmith video. But no that wasn't it.
As some know I'm Big time S F Giants fan. I have season tickets and can't get enough baseball, it's been that way since I was a young boy. Also since I'm a bit north of 50 I grew up looking at Willie and Willie as my hero's.
So yesterday I arrive at the park head to the elevator same as always there waiting for an elevator was Willie Mays and his assistant. So here I go in elevator with Willie and I start conversation and one thing leads to another I happen to have on one of my Signed Jersey' and Willie asked why he didn't see his name on there and offers and than signs it. We stop and on comes a Obvious Cubs fan all decked out, we ride a couple more floors ( I didn't get off at my regular floor) as I was going to stay with Willie as long as I could all the time talking baseball.
All good things come to an end, Willie gets off and shakes my hand and says see you around.
Next the elevator operator says to me bet that makes your day, of course I agree, than he turns to Cubs fan and say bet you didn't think you would be riding an elevaotor with that man did you. To which Cubs fan says " Who was he?" Both myself and Elevator guy just doesn't know what to say to Cubs fan. Hell if I ran into Ernie Banks I sure would know him.
Needless to say I have now checked off one of my Bucket list I never even thought of putting on there. For me about the only other childhood hero I would enjoy as much might be John Wayne but thats not happening.
Since today is Fan Appreciation day who knows who I will run into.........................
Now if we can just keep Cubs from sweeping us
