Default Abbreviation help

I hate to show my ignorance but there are a couple of abbreviations that I see on online forums and sale ads occasionally that I just haven't been able to figure out. I've done pretty well with most others but FTW and NOM simply escape me. Can someone enlighten me?

FTW = For The Win - It's slang from first person shooters (video games) as an enthusiastic positive expression.

Eg. - Someone likes Mustangs might say "Mustangs FTW!" (though I don't use that very often)

Nom is an onomatopoeia for the sound you make when you eat.

Eg. - Eating a bacon double cheeseburger... Om nom nom nom.

I have seen NOM and figured it meant "Not Original Motor". Just my guess though shrug.

I guess it depends on the context

In the context I've seen it used NOM would be non original motor. I never would have figured out FTW.
Thanks guys, that really helps. It bugs me to read something I don't understand.

It can also mean either "No Offense Meant" or "No Other Messages"... But yeah, in an automotive context, "Not Original Motor" would be my first inclination...

While we're talking about context: If you hear/see FTW around a motorcycle gang it usually means F*** the World.

I always thought BFF was Big Fat Friend and could not understand why Paris Hilton wanted a big fat friend.

It turns out she wanted Best Friends Forever. Yeah, like that's going to happen. She couldn't hold onto Nicole Richie as a friend.
