Some were a surprise, but I have to say many were very ugly. Some of the contemporary cars I like. I kind of liked the Pinto when the 4 banger was replaced with a V8. I see a Mustang made the list. Hehehe

Is nothing sacred?

Some of these cars are somewhat sought after.

I didn't see my very first car, an '81 Olds Omega. This was an oxidized, four door box that looked like crap. But it got me around in high school. Just not very cool with the chicks!

I can't believe they put the Delorean on there. How dare they mess with Back to the Future fame!!?!

I'll take a "Prowler." Some on the list would bring some serious cash.

I'm glad the Subaru Baja and the PT Cruiser made the list.

I had a PT for about 5 years and loved it. Very roomy, (3 of my kids in the back, 6'4,6'3, 5'10) and lots of lateral leg room. We had the 5 speed. Retro? yes.

PS. This is like asking what's the best color for a Mustang? LOL

I don't know if it's one of the ugliest, but I owned a Seat (Fiat made under license in Franco's Spain) just like this one. I could not kill that car, it was one of the best cars I ever owned. Bought it for $500 and sold it two years later for $500. Of course, I thought my first generation '88 Isuzu Trooper was kind of attractive in a utilitarian way -and also indestructible.

Some kind of arbitrary choices on the list, I think.
Ferrari Enzo-"The V-shaped hood, scooped-out doors, and bulbous windshield scream overkill." Yes, yes they do. Proving the writer knows squat about Enzos.
The first pic I saw was an '80's El Camino. I don't get it. I don't like Caminos but I don't see actual ugly. I don't see anything wrong with the BMW 7 car at all. Some cars I'd class as funny or dumb looking rather than ugly. But what's wrong with the BMW?
Some ado made about hubcaps here and there, the Chevette for example. Umm, they are hubcaps. Easily changed. Same for wheels that don't appeal. Wheels/caps wouldn't help ugly cars much but why the focus on them? Odd.
Different strokes, yes. But they hit on a few. VW Things ARE ugly. Even folks who own and love them readily admit it.
I've owned some ugly cars-1978 LTDII for example, but none on that list.

I don't know who selected this list, but I quickly exited the site when I saw the Mercury Sable (one of the all time best looking cars) and the Chevy SSR listed. Who ever wrote this should take his crack addled self to a rehab facility.

I expected to see the Ford EXP on the list. A coworker many years ago had a green one, it looked like a frog.

Yes but the fold down seats and the hatch were very handy. I used to date a girl who owned one.

I also agree that the writer knows exactly squat about cars. Must have been a really slow news day.

I laughed so hard when I saw the list. I agree the writer doesn't know what he's talking about. I laughed even harder when I got to picture 9,

I had one of these. Mine was a 71 with a 2 liter Cortina engine. I couldn't kill it. Would run 16's at the drag strip, STOCK!

Then I saw number 10 and laughed harder,
That's identical to my brother's car. Right down to the wheel covers and mudflaps on the rear. We got both those cars from our grandfather. The Mustang II was a pile and was always overheating.

I disagree with those two cars being on the list. But I was glad to see the Pontiac Aztec there. I wonder how many executives at Pontiac lost their jobs over that fugly box on wheels?

When I read Gypsy's response, I thought he summed up my thoughts on the list pretty well. Then I continued on down and read everyone's responses below his. About half of this idiot writer's list may have been poorly received cars through time, but were highly touted when introduced. They may also now have bad reps, but certainly aren't some of the "50 ugliest"!

Most of the truly ugly cars he lists were extremely esoteric and limited run specialty cars. Yeah, they're ugly, but they weren't meant to be good looking as much as they were engineered for specific applications or markets. I guess since it's NOT on the list, this dumba$$ must OWN a Prius. It may be green and efficient, but it's certainly uglier than a lot of the cars he listed!

Add me to the list of those that think the writer knows diddly about cars!
