No, they wouldn't even let me see them. I wanted to see how big the tonsils actually were.

Hope you have a speedy recovery. 51 next week and still have all my original parts. Don't know what to think, seeing all the other stories--thought I was safe at my age, but now I don't know.

Had them taken out at age 33 or 34. Operation was done on a Thurs AM. Tues nite, got blitzed at a "tonsil party" Any excuse in a singles bar is good reason!! Weds afternoon, checked in after going to work in AM with a hangover! Early Thurs, before the "deal", they gave me something to knock me out-IT DIDN'T! So they wheel me to OR on a gurney and I am effin' awake! They parked me in the hall and all others waiting for whatever are knocked out!! Wheeled into OR put on table looking up at a big mirror or whatever. Guy asked why I'm conscious-said the sh*t didn't work. Good natured guy, he says "well this will knock you out. Jokingly said, you're full of..................and woke up back in room, feeling groggy, sore throat, and slept. Slept all night, woke up in AM throat a little sore, but not too bad to ask for coffee! When Dr. came in, sees me sitting up reading paper and sipping coffee........tells me not to over do the coffee. says if I can do what he's seen, may as well get dressed to go. Sarcastically, he says, "I suppose you brought your car to drive home?? Yep,I replied and he said to see him on Tues or call if I have any probs. Drove to newstand in my 67 Mustang, got a Playboy, etc. went home. Slept a lot. Sat AM, phone rings, it's chick upstairs in apt complex where I lived, to tell there's a party tonite. Went to party, got a good beer buzz, had an ear of corn, hotdog, etc. Sun. AM, went to pool, with a hangover, didn't go in pool!. Mon AM back to work. Tues AM go to Dr. tell him what I did and he examined me telling me not to do party again for a week so as not to disturb clot but says he's probably talking to deaf ears!! Called him once more to thank him for a good job! NO!! It's NOT A BIG DEAL. One thing he told me before going in, that it's a mental thing! Believe it will be OK and it WAS! Hope this tale helps! It's true. It happened a long time ago-traded off 67 Mustang for a 69 Impala Custom Cpe.

NA, I know you're full of it...no one would trade a 67 vert for a 69 impala! You had me up until then...(kidding),
They actually just burn them out now. More pain, less bleeding. You basically end up with two giant burns in the back of your throat. I'm no baby. I worked for a day with diverticulitis. Doc said if I had worked another day, it would have ruptured. I was working on my car the day I got my wisdom teeth out. This has been different. I haven't touched the FB since it happened and I've got a brand new carb and KH brake setup to go on it. I just go from dose to dose of pain killers. I was pulling out my hair last night pacing and sweating in the kitchen. They switched my weenie self from Vicodin to Tylox today. man this sucks.
