Blush Hawaii inspection sticker mouting plate?

Does anybody happen know who sells the little sheet metal plates for attaching the Safety inspection sticker and the out of state permit stickers on Oahu? I was told Checkers had them but not so.

Thanks!

Oops posted in the wrong forum sorry guys!

Basically you mount the plate under your bumper and the inspection sticker gets stuck to it so it won't ding up your paint later on.

Here in Texas the motorcycle shops carry them. Got one for my Wife's Harley last year. They have fancy chrome ones and plain galvanized steel ones.

Hey congrats on getting Hawaii. I'm surprised you shipped your car out there (I'm assuming it wasn't paid for under orders). What if you just stick the tag on your bumper? I know, I know, but it's chrome, it will come off and you don't have to find and attach a special bracket.
Enjoy Hawaii.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to you and your family. I left the 65 back home on the main land. The plates are for the 08.

I found the plates at a place in the Pearl Ridge Mall called Razor Racing shop, and they had a bunch of them.

Yes, that's the one. Stopped by today and they said they no longer stock them but can order it for you.

I used to put my inspection stickers on my rear license plates but you're not supposed to. I like the idea of going to Home Depot and just buying a sheet and cutting it out. I'm surprised the guys at the hobby shop weren't able to help you. They usually have a lot of scrap available. Heck, for $2 you can buy a random piece of steel off any car in the salvage yard and make one.

I've never been to Hawaii and Google has been no help with showing what you're describing. Would you be willing to post a picture of the contraption that they require to display inspection decals when you get it mounted on your car? (blurring numbers is cool, I am just having trouble picturing this and can't believe that the state would require you to ruin your car with decals just for inspections)

It's just a rectangle piece of metal, maybe 5" wide x 3" tall. Along the top it has a 1/2" lip 90 degree bend and that would be the mating surface to the body either with screws or double sided tape (which won't last forever). Heck, you could take an old license plate and fold it and cut to size, shops were charging $10 for a bent piece of steel. The stickers are placed by the inspectors not the owner. If you don't have the mount plate they just stick it on the bumper or the rear valance. I had aftermarket everything on my car so wouldn't pass inspection normally, I had to do the under the table inspection where the stickers came in an envelope, an I put them on my license plate myself.

Yeah I thought the same thing. The police want to be able to see it if and when their behind you, it can't be on your window it has to be on or near the right bumper. And it gets worse, if you choose not to go with Hawaii plates, you still have to pay to "register" your out of state car, and you get an even bigger blue sticker that you have to put next to the inspection sticker. Seriously? It's basically an underhanded way to make money in my opinion. If you don't meticuliously take car of your car out here it'll be ruined very quickly and the sticker is of little consequence to most I think. I'll throw a pic up tomorrow.
