Default Doesn't feel like Christmas at our house

Since we are getting ready to move to our new house, we didn't decorate or even put up a tree. SWMBO and I agreed not to get each other much as far as presents. We are going to put that money towards house stuff, such as curtains, etc.
We have a stack of presents in the corner for the rest of the family, but we aren't getting together with them until Jan. 1.
We're excited about the new house, it just doesn't feel like the holidays.

Joe

Joe, I know what you mean, since my wife & I got rid of our B&B we are renting a small 1/2 duplex house waiting for spring time to start looking for another house & we had no room for a real tree which we get every year. We only got each other a couple gifts this year. Very low key Christmas this year, not even any decorations outside, 1 thing I love doing is decorating the house, it getas me in the Christmas spirit. Oh well not this year.

I know what you mean Joe. The year before my wife got pregnant we decided to forget about the decorations and tree, etc. We never spend the Holiday home anyway so why bother.

We quickly decided that nomatter what, we would decorate from that point on. It just didn't seem like Christmas without it!

Mike - you sold it?

Does this mean you're moving down our way soon?

Yes Frank the B&B is history. As far as moving back to that area it is possible, but would have to be in eastern Pa. probably in the Pocono area as I would never be able to afford to live in NJ again. It is up to SWMBO, she has made a few friends up here, but is starting to get in touch with old friends back in NJ so anything is possible.

The wife and I didn't decorate either. Decided that due to tight budget, small gifts and visiting with the family was a better idea. Turned out real nice. Next year, hopefully we can decorate.
