Default Pertronix in a Pontiac?

I have a 1972 Pontiac Catalina with a 350 cubic inch engine, a two barrel and points. Well the points messed up last week. It is finally time to upgrade. I have been satisfied with the Pertronix module in my 71 Mach1. I was wondering if they made a kit for a Catalina or other B Body GM? I know I could upgrade to HEI but everyone out there is expensive. Even Summitt. This isn't a show car just a grocery getter. I don't drive it that often, thus I don't
want to sink a bunch of money in it.
Thanks in advance.
Kerry

I would think they do.

Try looking for a module at Summit

They make Pertronix modules for darn near anything, I'm pretty sure I've seen them in BOPC motors.

After a little research, looks like you need Pertronix #1181LS or #71181.

PS: Wootdog, please resize your avatar, it takes up half the screen.

Use any photo editting software and make it smaller.

Since every Pontiac engine other than the 301/265 has the same external dimensions you could pull an HEI from any 75-79 Pontiac and drop it in. The only one that is different is the 455 Super Duty and you wont be finding one of those cheap or easily anyway. Pertronix and MSD both make drop ins for the Pontiac points distributor. If you go with an HEI let me know and I will help you wire it because its a bit different from the points setup and doesnt use a resistor wire.

I've been thinking of painting my 71 sportsroof a similar color to yours, what color is that exactly? I was thinking Sunset Orange metallic from GM would be cool, but that color seems a bit brighter.

You might want to ask such questions on the following Pontiac forum. They are top notch.
