My rule with HF is never buy anything you need to be hardened or sharp.

I like the Tool box.
I'm happy with the tool box and don't plan on using the jack every weekend on a race car, so I'm pretty sure I'll get more than a year out of it.
N for those worried about the jack failing, when it does fail, I won't be under the car and stuck/crushed, jacks are lifting devices, jack stands are for holding up things, I won't get under a car held up with only a lift jack.

I have a set of the HF car dollies in my garage that belong to my son, they are garbage, not sure if they are the 1K or 1.5 but they require about 3 people to move a mustang, I also have a set from Northern, they are much better in both the way they are made and function, but they cost about twice as much. with that being said I have a HF 4" grinder (16.00) that I have had for about 5 yrs that has been used till it got too hot to hold many times and it never dies, where-as my Makita has been returned to the factory a couple of times

Is that the aluminum jack? I have the Princess Auto one (Same jack, I believe.. Canadian Harbor Freight deal).. Love that jack, actually.. Use it quite often.

I have a set of the heavier duty HF car dollies. No complaints here with moving the car around by myself.

Thanks, I guess I'll give 'em a try. They're mainly for the '67 and it doesn't have an engine in it, so I would think they'd be okay...

Yeah, that's what I thought - "how bad can they be"

I don't know the capacity of the set I bought, but they look exactly like the 1000lb set here...

- Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

The biggest problem is the casters are poorly made. Even on a smooth concrete floor, they want to track in every direction other than where you want to go, or are tough to even get started moving. I'm not a small guy at 6'4" and 240lb and I've pushed my share of heavy vehicles around.

If you do get them, lube the beejeezus out of the casters, both on the axle and the bearing. If you don't, you'll need four guys to move the car.

These are the set I have a raincheck for:

They look totally different from the set you have. They did say I could bring them back if I didn't like them...

Does anyone have these dollies?

I think most of their products are dangerous. It smells like a Chinese factory in there too. I have a couple tools from there, but I doubt I'll ever shop there again. They told me they have a 30 day customer satisfaction warranty and a 90 day warranty on their hydraulic stuff. 90 days warranty means it is supposed to last 90 days. Your $80 dollar tool becomes 160 when you have to replace it.
I love their tool rental program...
need a tool, buy it, use it, return it within 30 days. Get refund and repeat process. Drive prices up so local vendors of reputable products can compete.

Except to place the jack stands, right?

The tool rental program is real cute. The only trouble is that people do the same thing where the good tools are sold. So consequently all prices are being driven up.

Oh well it has been going on for years. Of course there are legitimate tool rental places. Oops that would cost. Sorry!
