Did anyone go to the Silver Springs Show and did you see this thing. I was told that it was mostly late model mustangs but this Comet got a lot of attention.
I was there!! both days!! yea, there were alot of late-model Mustangs, but there were alot of early ones too, LOTS of very nice Falcons, Mavericks, Cougars, even a few NICE Torinos, fairlanes, Thunderbirds, a few nice trucks...this was the most vehicles I have ever seen at Silver Springs in 13 years of attendence-(on Saturday) they say around 950...I think there were MORE!-my car number was 1159 I think, so there, acording to that were more registered.....the guys at the entry/check in said there were MANY MANY drive ins (folks just driving in w/o pre-registration) I rather think 1950-ish is a better number!! they had vehicles stuck everywhere!!
I THINK I saw the Comet...there were several Cyclones there and all were very nice!!
My Tripple Black '65 Mustang K GT Convertible was awarded Mustang Monthly's Editor's Choice Best Mustang by Donald Farr the editor, AND Best Of Show by NPD.
GREAT SHOW, and Saturday's weather was PERFECT!

Congratulations.
Saturday was definately better weather. (Sunday wasn't bad, just that Sat. was better)
Yea, Saturday was the better day, we had to be parked under trees near to the Giraffe pen on Saturday (no smell though-wind must have been blowing the other way) but couldn't keep the Black car clean-Sunday we moved it over near the hot dog/ hamburger tent nearer the Falcons and Mavericks-next year we'll get there SUPER EARLY and get a better spot to start with!!
MCA did require one a few years back. I would think the rule is still in place for safety reasons. I don't think it is required for an emergency brake. That application and the crying dolls are for the GM crowd.
Guys, Thanks for the replies and complements!! -still working on a few items believe it or not.
I don't really know the criteria for my car being awarded the MM Editor's Choice for Best Mustang, nor the NPD one for Best Of Show, I'm thinking it was the true story that I told Donald Farr about how I got the car, and I guess the other one was a Peoples choice type thing that earned my car Best of Show.......I am a very humble person and never expected either one
