Hahaha I was bored and searching on the net and came across a site that sells missile silos... I know it sounds crazy but I think it would be awesome to buy one and turn into a house. I mean come on one I was looking at has 12,000 sq ft of usable underground living area,22 acres, security fence with barbed wire. I mean come on it would be the safest home during the zombiocolypse...
There is a decomissioned one just a couple of miles from my home. It's owned by the city and used for storage of documents. It is available for tours. There are numerous silos still in operation between where I live (Northern Colorado) and the Wyoming border. When you drive down the road all you see is a fenced off area with some concrete pads and antennas. Not a good idea to go anywhere around those sites.

The Russki's probably still have all those coordinates in their targeting computers. You might just be signing up for a close-up view of a 10 megaton "sunrise" some day.

I know of at least two in the Greater Denver Area. One is on Quincy east of Aurora and the other is down by Kiowa/Elizabeth. They are pretty easy to spot on Google Maps. Very distinct layout and they're all pretty much the same depending on the type of facility (Titan, Minuteman, Atlas, etc.).
If this was more affordable I'd totally live in one.

If you reinforced it and turned it into an apartment complex, that would be awesome. You could made balconies a few stories up to pick off the stragglers. You need a self contained in house water supply otherwise it could get contaminated. You need an elevated store room as well as fencing in the acres 3 times over - first fence, electrified. between that and the second fence would be a moat of oil. - you need someone on the tower who is a good archer as well.
