I just picked up a WD TV Live the other day. So far it scores a Meh... I got the WD because it's one of the few boxes that will stream from a network media source (i.e. all my movies, photos, music on my network drive). I haven't played around a lot with it yet, but I find the free content to be pretty typical of what you'd expect for free. If you do Netflix or Hulu Plus, I'm thinking it might have some better content choices.

Quality wise I find it works pretty well. I only have a 6mb DSL line and so far everything has streamed flawlessly. I realize it's not a Roku, but just thought I throw out another option for you.

I have both Roku and a WD TV Live. I have the older version of the WD TV Live which does NOT stream Netflix. I use it for the connection to my networked drives also. That said, I find the Roku the more useful and better designed of the two and the Roku is simple to operate. Either would be a good choice, but I have been frustrated with the WD software upgrades on more than one occasion, the Roku has never given me a problem.

I have the Roku 2 xs , wireless connection to my Linksys , got it a few months ago , Love it , works great for Netflix and the channel store feature is great , many free channels to chose from , I have also added a couple of games to it , I think I paid about $90 bucks for it plus the $8 a month to netflix
