I tried to participate in the Haggerty fantasy bid contest (solely to get my name in the hat for that 800hp 2013 beast of a pony they are giving away). Somebody didn't plan very well, as I consistently had problems getting in and staying in (server issues).

Be aware that the BJ auctions are mostly what we would consider "high end" cars. And if low-end cars are going across the block, they likely won't be televised.

The big auction houses typically don't sell low end cars because they can't make enough money on them. It requires just as much effort to sell a $15,000 car as it does to sell a $150,000 car. So, why would they bother with $15,000 cars? The auction house gets a percentage of the sale.

Also, for the seller, it's usually not worthwhile to pay $1,000 to ship a $15,000 car across the country to an auction. If the seller is local, and it's simply a matter of driving or towing the car down the street, that might work. But there are only a few cases like that.

I live here in Phoenix and never been to the BJ auction, first of all it is very expensive just to get in and the cars are not priced for the average person.....

Have gone the last 3 years and the cars are getting lower in quality each year. Most of the Mustangs I looked at were ok but far from perfect. Couple nice ones in the salon that sold Saturday.
