Do you have a maid that scrubs and waxes the floor? Wall paper? Walnut paneling?
LOL! Seriously our garage is an old time car's leak, crud on the old grubby floor...
Looks great!

If I'm thinking of the right stuff, VCT goes down relatively easily depending on the pattern. It used a separate adhesive that goes on the floor prior to laying the tile down.
It took about 4 hours to prep-grinding the seams and filling all the cracks. Then the next day I laid the glue down allowed an hour for it to dry and then applied the tiles. 1 and a half days and $750 later, it was done. I dreamt about this floor for about 5 years but never had my own floor to do it to. I hope that who ever buys my house when the AF moves me appreciates it as much as I do.
What did you put on it for a finish? Please tell me you put a finish (polymer) on it. If not, you should clean it THOROUGHLY with a disc-type floor scrubber/polisher (what's commonly called a side-by-side, rent-able at most rental stores, with a pad driver and a BLUE pad, and apply a good quality acrylate polymer floor finish to protect the tiles. You'll probably use 2 coats as a sealer and 3-4 coats as a topcoat, allowing to dry between each coat and at least 24 hours before walking/driving on it. I'd use carpet pieces or other matting under the tires to prevent marring. Bare VCT will stain very easily.

It looks great, but after reading this from bartl, I don't have the energy to maintain anything else. Especially a floor.

How will it hold up to jack stands? It's pretty, but I have to have a "working" garage I'm not afraid to work in. I'm leaning towards the paint with the specks tossed onto it.

as long as the floor is 100% flat ( no holes or cracks ) jackstands wont hurt it. but a jack will hurt it ( especially if the wheels are jagged from being rolled around )

Years ago, when I was assigned to US Navy aircraft carriers, they had that same tile on the decks. And boy did those decks take abuse. We maintained a coat of wax on them. But they saw thousands of squids stomping on them as well as hydraulic fluid, raw sewage and who knows what else. It was always fine.
The floor is not a problem. When I use a jack and jack stands, I use a square of ply wood underneath. I used a jack once without it and it left a divot. Oh well, after all, it is a garage floor. After I laid the tile, I waxed it 5 times and that's it. I'll probably strip and wax once a year if I think it needs it. It still looks good after 9 months so I'll see.
