Eight Corvettes plunge into sinkhole at National Corvette Museum


1993 ZR-1 Spyder on loan from General Motors
2009 ZR1 “Blue Devil” on loan from General Motors
The other six vehicles were owned by the National Corvette Museum including:
1962 Black Corvette
1984 PPG Pace Car
1992 White 1 Millionth Corvette
1993 Ruby Red 40th Anniversary Corvette
2001 Mallett Hammer Z06 Corvette
2009 White 1.5 Millionth Corvette

The company that I work for has the HVAC contract there... A co worker had to go there this morning to shutdown some of the HVAC system...he said there was alot of strucural damage as well as the vehicle damage

I was hoping that this was a joke, but sadly it isn't.

I guess that's what happens when you build a museum or anything in an area with limestone caves.

WOW---luckily it didn't happen when the Museum was open....might have not been any warning the floor was about to cave in...

Good thing I didnt get my c7 with a museum delivery! (Although It would have been in september, but this can happen anytime)

On the positive side. They may have lost eight cars but they gained a basement.
They still have bragging rights. How many people do you know that have 8 corvettes in their basement. LOL.
