Default Power Tour 2012

I posted a thread in the general discussion, but wanted to see if anyone local was going this year and get a group together.

Power Tour 2012

We have never gone, but the car should be ready by Spring, so we figure we may as well go now before we have little ones running around.

Wife and I are planning on going up Friday Night and hitting at least until Champaign, IL. Which is the Wife's 30th Birthday (Am I allowed to say that online) and Friday we have a graduation in Ohio, so doubt we will be able to run the whole tour, which prob isn't a bad thing considering the car will only be drivable about a month before taking it.

If anyone else is going and would like to get a group together, let me know. I am booking hotel rooms later this week.
Hope to see some of you there!
Jason

Booked Hotels for:
La Quinta Inn Detroit Warren Tech Center
Holiday Inn MUSKEGON-HARBOR
Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Champaign

Looks like Collinsville, IL might be the 4th stop, although officially on the website it is TBA. Once it is posted, I will book a room for that stop, then we will be heading back to Cincinnati afterwords.

We are looking forward to it... just need to finish the car!!

Hopefully we will get to meet some of you out there on the road.

Jason

I was going to do the Power Tour a couple of years ago when it went through Ohio but could not justify spending the money. I wish I would have done it. Now I've got a 2 month old here at home so probably wont be able to do it till he is old enough to come along. Maybe if it comes through Ohio again I'll give it a shot. I've got the AODE transmission now, I'm good to go lol.

Yeah I hear ya. We don't have any kids yet, so I figure now is the time to do it!

I did the math on gas/hotel... Thats the other reason we are only going 1/2 way, LOL

I am planning to go if: I get the taillight panel replaced and a couple of other minor items. My plan is to go the entire distance.

Will be making all reservations this week.

HRPT was why I went with the 6 speed and 20 gal fuel cell, more time behind the wheel between gas stations. I tried the long haul in 07, blew up my Clevor in Chicago on day 4. Every year since I've tried to break away from what I am involved with (work) to do it again. Every year I tell myself I'm going to be around to do it. I blew out either my clutch master or my Hydro TO bearing before deploying back in 2010 and haven't been home long enough to touch the Mustang. Although, if I am home this June, I will try to make some of the stops.

Bart, I have been watching some of your build pix on here and have seen you on stangbangerz. I would love to see some of your car if you do get a chance to make some stops.

Jason,

Thank you for the kind words. I get back about a week before the Power Tour, will be a Long Hauler this year but I won't have time to get any of the Fords ready. All my projects have been on hold since I left home Oct 2010. I'm only coming home for the Power Tour then I have to go back. On the HRM website we're putting together an OHIO group. Once I get to Detroit I'm going to fall in to the Long Haulers caravan you should join is. It's always nice to have backup.

Just to let you know, I've fallen into a group on the Hot Rod Power Tour site, 1 guy leaving from Cinci in a 05+ Mustang and we've picking up an El Camino in Toledo. There's a Original Pankcake House south of Dayton we're meeting around 7am Friday morning if you want to join us.
