Hello, just read what you did on the 5.0 speed density. I'm looking to do same/similar for a 5.0 swap into a 1935 Ford Cabriolet. How is the throttle response? I'm looking at Edelbrock Aluminum heads, do you see any problem with that? What size throttle body do you have? Thanks.

sorry for the delay...I didn't see this until now. I've never used one of those rear retainers. Not to say they aren't good, but they tend to shatter 2nd or 3rd gear long before the case splits from fatigue. I've read they allow more preload too, but I don't have a problem dialing in preload (slight) as it is. I suppose you can't go wrong with it, but I haven't yet found it useful.

    Hey V8,

I've been reading your posts on T5's and where you've been building them for locals. I've got a question for you. I started to collect parts to put a Toploader in. Then changed course and decided to put a T5 in. I found a low milage 97 v6 T5 in great shape for cheap. I bought a new input shaft, had the bearing pressed on as well as a steel front bearing retainer. I ended up installing the Toploader just to get the car done since I had all the parts and didn't have the adapter or trans cross member to do the swap and was tight on money. I would like to have the T5 waiting in the wings and was thinking about installing a billet rear bearing retainer. What are your thoughts on them? Basically going to be a street car with a mild 302. Thanks!
