The car was biult in Metuchen, trailered to Jacksonville, FLA, shipped to a Ford dealership in Puerto Rico in 1967. Returned to the mainland (PA) in December 2011. I am its 4th owner. Quite a story!

Feel like I have seen this car around. Where did you pick it up?

hank you for your message. The engine was rebuilt in 1995. Barely driven afterwards. Probably not even 10-20,000 miles since it was a weekend. show-car driver. Then spent 5 years abandoned in a car garage until I rescued it. I confess when I removed the valve covers, some roller rockers were loose or very loose. I tightened the ones that were very loose, throughout (can't even remember which were). But I doubt that was it. I'll check the pullyes today. Good suggestion. I hope that is the problem........................................... .................................................. ......................................your welcome. the lifters had to be loose when you parked it, if they were not then you cam went flat from starting it dry when you restarted it. feel free to post my replies on your thread when you reply about the puley noise if you want.if

my messages have been disappearing so heres my reply. I would remove the alternator belt. if it still clacks it is internal and not the pullyes. it sounds a bit like a lifter tick, hard to say but it does sopund like it is in the front of the eng?.... how many miles on it?.... does it smoke when warm or was that just condensation from the ex pipes?
