I just got done installing a Cable Clutch from Ron Morris. Installation was fairly simple but I have a question on adjustment. When you release the clutch pedal, the pedal stops BELOW the height of the brake pedal where it used to stop higher then the brake pedal. Is there a way to adjust this so it stops in the stock position? Do I need to add a small return spring under the dash to have it come back to the stop?
I have the Ron Morris set up in my '70 and had the same problem when I first installed it. A few adjustments at the bell housing and then a final at the firewall, and now the pedal is inline with the brake pedal.
In my 66 with the RMP cable my pedal lines up fine now, but I had to fiddle around with the adjustment at both the pedal side and the bellhousing side until I was happy with it. A small spring might work better, but I added a few shims (washers) and an e-clip at the entrance of the bellhousing which helped.
Currently enjoying my grandfather-in-law's 1966 A-code coupe. I am the second owner. Ü
