I am looking at the "Total Control" Subframe-Connector System and would like to know if anyone else has tried this system with this setup.
Application is:
68 FB Mustang
428
FPA headers
4 spd Toploader
2 1/2" dual exhaust
I may need to find a Shelby site.
I haven't tried the total control but I just installed the competition engineering ones on my car and they fit awesome...I used the bolt on style and welded them on.

I have their subframe connectors on my '65 convertible. I also have their upper control arms. I've found TCP quality to be completely top notch. Fit and finish is excellent.

Their prices are pretty high, though.

Kinda goes hand in hand with quality.

Thanks for the info. guys.
I'd rather hear the lessons learned rather than pave the way on this one.
By the way, Kechke, Massage...20 Ton press? Holy smokes,I'd like to hear one of your stories about really having to re work a part, jeez.
Blistic, nice ride, clean mixed with testosterone, or Viagra, whatever, it looks good.
That's interesting. Where exactly did they have
a problem with fit? The "mule" for the 1st set
of 65/66 convert subframes was a 21,000 mile
'65 and in the three years I was there, we never
had a complaint. (and believe me, if there was so
much as a cotter pin missing, we got a phone call)
I'm wondering if your experience was fairly recent
and perhaps the 910C jig now has an issue?

Thank you for the pics. Nothing like getting pics of what a system will look like on your car. Was the exhaust installed when this pic was taken?
You are a bad girl... You even painted stripes on the undercarrage, wow.

I removed the exhaust when I decided to stripe the underside. The exhaust shop had put a custom exhaust in there to go from the 390 and get around the subframe connectors. It looked pretty good when it was done. I had Hooker SuperComps but have now changed to FPA headers so the rest of the exhaust system is being redone, too.

I put on a pair of Global West connectors this summer for my convertible and the fit was horrible. I had to cut off the front mount and re-weld it back on. It had the wrong angle and would not even fit on the frame rail. Not a big issue but a pain in the butt. Other than that they were nice.

A few weeks ago I put on some GW subframe connectors that I purchased in 1993 or so on my '65 fastback. The only *issue* was straightening up the frame rails where they had been bent from being used as jacking points without care.
I was pleasantly surprised how well the connectors fit and conformed to the body. Granted all my GW products were purchased at that time and still have very little miles on them, I'm pleased with the quality and performance of the stuff.
