Hi!,

I have a 1991 5.0 Mustang motor, and I was wondering if the injectors out of a 1989 302 Crown Vic would be the same?

The injectors in your Mustang motor are 19lb, the injectors in the C/V motors should be 16lb. It will never run correctly. Look at the injector colors, the Mustang should be yellow/orange and the C/V should be blue IIRC.

Yep, the 14# non-HO injectors should be black and white and the 19# HO injectors are orange and tan. At least that's how I remember it from 3+ years ago.

It should be pretty easy to find a set of 19# injectors cheap, there's likely thousands of guys with modified 5.0L Mustangs with their stock injectors collecting dust. I'm running 24# injectors in my fastback, I think I tossed the stock injectors from my motor in the garbage a couple years ago.

Also your computer/Mass Air meter must be calibrated for the correct injector size, therfore if you go to 24, or 30, or whatever size, you need to have them recalibrated. 19# is stock HO.

Check out this page;
Rogue Performance

He's a member of a performance Ranger forum similar to this one that I occasionally visit. He started his biz doing cheap upgrades for the Ranger V6 motors but his injector service is the cheapest way I've seen to get a matched set of injectors, even better matched than the "matched" sets sold thru FRPP. I haven't used his service but he came very highly recommended on the Ranger forum.

For the EV1 style of injector: the orange are 19 lb, the blue are 24 lb, the red are 30 lb, and green are 42 lb.

pick up a set of 96-01 explorer 5.0 injectors they are the new 4hole style injector which will provide better fuel atomization which = more usable power and fuel economy

if your mass air and plan on modding look for a set of lincoln mark 8 93and up cars they have 24lb injector which are also the 4 hole style iirc, but you will need a different maf like a C+L i have one in my 5.0 and if you do any injector mods all i have to do is buy a cheap sampling tube to compensate for it.

Or look for the 95 96 97 tbirds with the 4.6L they have that new 19# design III body and 4 hole spray pattern. If you want 24# Desing III look for the ford taurus with 24V engine. You would need to find 2 cars though for they are just 6 cylinders. I forget the years and if you want a matching 24# maf look at the taurus with sho in it!! If you folks need these injectors let me know I can get them for ya's. I can even get them rebuilt for you too. Let me know im sure I can get something going for my buddies here
