Yeah. What mine was doing is really hard to explain. It was bottoming out on the lower core support in a way that trimming would not have helped. I tried to explain it on the other page. The other gripe I had was it was it looked like two different people trimmed it. 100% different from side to side.

I also see you have the non bumper piece so I can only assume it uses a different mold.

I would think the time involved to do a mod of your steel apron would be quite a lot.
Not worried about the time. I really just wish I would have followed through with it from the begining like I wanted to. I just want the best possible results. My body guy wanted to cut the glass one in half and then section the center to allow it to wrap around the core support like it should. End result is that I will have something no one else has(remember the aluminum insert), and it will be stronger without the eventual fibergass cracking that I am sure was to happen. Hell, it already had a ton of stress cracking just from trying to get it fitted.

The metal one i posted with the license plate area cut out and surround tack welded in took all of an hour. Cutting wheel, cardboard template, cut/bend scrap steel, tack weld, done except seam bondo and paint.

Have you contacted Branda about the fit? They have some of the best fiberglass on the market. Maybe you just got a bad one?

I know it's kinda late in the thread, but I just stumbled on this pictorial showing the fabrication of one using the original bumper and fabbing the rest from sheet. Pretty nice job.

Yeah, I found it looking for info on block sanding, of all things. Many good ideas and techniques. I only poked around the site for a few minutes, but there's a ton of stuff there.

I decided to give it a try a couple years ago. I hadn't heard of anyone doing it at the time(although I'm sure they had), but I couldn't find any info on it. Here is the short writeup I did on it.
