Default 65 Fuel Filler Neck Return Line Mod

Here is a mod I did on my filler neck about 1 year ago. It was never installed because I went a differnt route.

My original plan was to run a return line into the trunk via the drain hole on the driver's side trunk. The filler neck was cut so it could pass thru the rear panel. It would not go in with the AN fitting welded on. This project started becuase I was adding an electric fuel pump to my carbed car.

I am posting this just to give people an idea on how it can be done. In the end, I went with a fuel sender that had a return built in.

BTW, this is for sale if anyone wants it.

I don't blame you for going a different route... I don't think I'd want a return line being fed by an electric fuel pump running through the trunk either. I'd imagine that if you've got a high flow pump that some amount of gas will spash towards the gas cap.

What a most folks do us run the return line through the tank drain bung, or plumb a return line into the fuel sender like you ended up doing ( me too ).
