I had the racepak dash in my race car. There were some limitations to what gauges could show in which screens because only certain gauges can show in certain positions. For instance, I had to have the oil pressure on the 2nd screen because of another gauge being used on the front screen. That always really bugged me. I wanted water temp, fuel pressure, and oil pressure on the main screen but fuel pressure and oil pressure use the same position. The one nice thing was the CAN integration to my Big Stuff 3 EFI system, so I didn't need seperate sensors for both the EFI and the Dash.

i went thru the same thing-- dont like the drop down on the cheaper 6 guage bezels-- and JME is nice but i really want them to match design wise both sides--
i dont think jme makes the glovebox door - i thought it was just a scott drake or ? deluxe door replacement.

what i want is like the jme one but with the top line to match the glove box-- i will have to try the flat panel part here and see if i can get it to match.
this is what i did for now-- the tach is sitting on the shelf

I'm going to try the 2late route for now. I definetly don't want the bezel that drops down, so I will try to fab something up with the original bezel (although I don't like the idea of cutting an original, maybe I will be a repop for that) and use the brushed black aluminum for the cluster and the glove box. I figured I can use it as accent on the doors and the custom console.

For now, the biggest problem has been finding the 6 gauge wood-grain overlay to use as template like 2late did. I called a couple of places and looked online, but haven't found anything yet. (Let me know if anyone has an extra one they want to sell ).

Now all I have to do is save up for the Autometer Sport Comp II's that I want. When is there next 15% off discount code coming out?

Came across something interesting today. Has anyone heard of the fiberglass dash (full dash, 6 instrument cluster, single din radio and glove box) offered by Year One? For $260 its not a bad option, depending on how much labor you wanted to put into it.

Here are pics of the Year One "Hoss" Mustang. It has a black dashpad installed...not sure if it is capable of the "shaved" look...more research to come.

They also have a 3 pod cluster you can add to the top (not sure what I would do with 9 instruements...). One draw back is that they are all 2" openings, not sure if you can squeeze a 2 1/16 in there or not.

BTW, those black plastic bezels for 70 bucks don't fit good at all and look like junk IMO.
so how did you attach the aluminum piece to the plastic? Any progress pictures? I also like the 6-gauge look but can't stomach the JME price.

I put in Auto Meter gauges in my 68 and had several issues. The electric oil sender never gave me true pressure and jumped all over the place. The fuel gauge reads empty when I am down to 6 gallons in a 16 gallon tank. I also made sure I got the Auto meter gas gauge for Ford tank senders. The tank sender arm needs to be bent to get even close to the proper reading. So if did it over again I would have gotten the mechanical oil pressure gauge and drained the tank and pulled the sender so I could jumper it to the gas gauge to do some arm bending.

Here is a picture of the gauges before I threw out the cheap Grant steering wheel.

I have a Haneline gauge cluster in my '67 coupe. I have completely rewired the car with an American Autowire set and I'm ready to put the instrument cluster back in. Now for the problem. I have a nine pin plug in the rear of the speedometer, with only four wires connected. Starting with pin one in the upper left and ending with pin nine in the bottom right, I have the following wires. Pin 1 - black. Pin 2 - grey. Pin3 - empty. Pin 4 (start of second row) - purple. Pin - 5 - yellow. Pins 6 - 9 empty. Can anyone tell me what these four wires should be connected to? I took photos when I removed the cluster from the car and believe the purple wire is simply for the lights in the unit. Because the wiring in the car was a gnarwled mess, I can't determine what the other three are routed to. Any help would be greatly appreciated. JC
