Default 351Cleveland in 67 Coupe

I recently picked up a 67 Coupe fitted with a 351Cleveland that is needing restored. As it was originally a six cylinder car I have decided to go down the resto-mod route and have gotten a good deal of work done already.
My question is regarding the engine - I am looking for something that will be reliable, sound good and will go like sh#t - not looking for much am I?
Anyway the car already has headers and a Holley - what type of electronic ignition suits this engine the best? Are there any other non-invasive mods that I should be considering for the engine??

The Cleveland engine can be all you've asked for - "reliable, sound good and will go like sh#t" - I still have such an engine and a '67 coupe but switched to a 302 because I wanted to get some weight off the front and improve the gas milage. I also wanted some space under the hood to be able to work on it. I had what you want, but it got old quick. I found myself wanting to drive it longer distances and although both were reliable, the 302 just made better sense to me. Will the Cleveland do what you want? Yes! Perfectly!

Is your cleveland equipped with 2V heads or 4V heads?
A MSD 6A works well.
The Edelbrock RPM Air gap is an awesome intake for the 2V heads.
You need at least 3.40 gears I would say.

Also, don't forget the brakes. You'll want to NOT kill someone. You said it was originally a 6 cylinder, that means 4 lug hubs and weak drum brakes and light duty suspension and springs. Maybe you have already addressed those things.

Thanks guys! I have plans to change front suspension and brakes for exactly the reasons you quoted - any suggestions on this front would also be welcome - and have completely cleaned up the engine bay by moving battery and all electrics to either the boot (sorry - trunk!) or under the dash. This has given me a much cleaner look and cleared up some space. As for gas mileage - we pay around $12 a gallon here so if you drive an old car its just something you have to live with!

Sorry - also meant to say my car has the 2V heads so thanks for the heads up re MSD 6A - I had been considering which system to go for so do you think this is the best?

Don't know if it's the best but I run the MSD 6AL on my 70--The 6A would be fine for you probably. Summit has all the information about the difference of the two and a good place to get them. Sounds like your going to have a nice ride.
